HARVEY WOODS | Portraits
I never thought an old abandonned factory could be such a great place for portraits. A few weeks ago I told you about my exciting tour of Harvey Woods! Luckily the space was opened up again for use so I could snap some portraits of beautiful Katie.
Katie is a natural in front of the camera! Before the shoot she said to me that I "would get good practice photographing someone who doesn't know how to pose". What? No way! Looking at the photos, that is obviously not the case!
This one is my favourite:
They have already started some improvements on the interior of Harvey Woods. There was shellac on some of the floors, and what looked to be a rough floorplan taped off in the corner.
I am lucky enough to have another few shoots planned in the space before it is renovated. Although it will be an improvement for the community, I can't help but feel a little sad that I won't get to run around inside this old brick relic anymore! Silly...I know!
Homestead Christian Care will be hosting a pancake breakfast coming up for all the photographers who have taken part in the Harvey Woods tours. I can't wait to see what some of the other photographers have come up with. It is so rare to be invited inside a building like this before it is renovated. I have a few photographer friends who have snuck into some other abandoned places, just to get that perfect shot!
What about you? Have you ever snuck into an old abandoned building for photos...or simply a good scare? I'd love to hear your stories. And, I promise, I'm not taking names, lol!
